Hurray guys, RED, the colour is everywhere in the shops this autumn/winter!
I must say I am delighted as red is MY favourite colour. I went off red as a teenager, it was too bright, too much in your face, all I wanted to do was blend in with everyone else. But for the last few years red has been my colour of predilection.
Have a read of this great article below which was published in The Times a few weeks ago.
I wanted to show you 3 gorgeous red jumpers that are currently available in stores: from a darker red to a brighter one and hoping to encourage you to add a burst of colour to your autumn/winter closet. Our winter is often quite grim in London so any colour to brighten the scenery is always welcomed:-)
1 – This tight fitting jumper is a very fine merino sweater that comes in a variety of colours (in case you are not into red) and is sold for £24.90. It does not feel itchy on the skin even if you don’t want to wear anything underneath which is a big bonus. I would suggest you downsize when purchasing from Uniqlo. I am very much a size 10 (taille 40) and I bought both the jumper and this great cropped black trousers in small. All white Stan Smith trainers or other Stan Smith Adidas models.
3 – And now, how about another bright red but in a slouchier version with a lovely back detail? This is another model from Newlook which I find so super feminine and sold for £19.99. Frustratingly I cannot find this exact model on the New Look website but you should go and check their jumper selection which comes in lots of different colours.
Will you resist the Red temptation this winter? Try it with a few accessories if you are not normally into bright colours, I guaranty an instant ‘effet bonne mine’.
All the above photos were taken by my friend and fellow blogger Josephine. She writes this great fashion blog for women in their 50s ‘Chic at any age‘ and always has the best tips and ideas to look stylish at all time.
To finish off, I am letting you listen to, as a flashback, this cracking classic 80’s French song ‘En rouge et noir’ (in red and black) as it sounds quite appropriate and it’s a nice way to musically wrap up this blog post. Enjoy!
