It’s a pause – the summer holiday has kicked in!

Hi all!/Bonjour a tous!

I wasn’t able to post last week, too much to do with the end of the school year not to mention packing for the family for our long summer in France. I am intending to use a large part of the summer to fall in love with taking care of myself: mind, body, spirit.

I am sure I will burst at some point to share some of the beautiful sceneries I see here in Brittany (West of France) but at the present time, I hope you will excuse me but I might be a bit quiet on this blog.

Hope you all have a wonderful summer. I will be back!

When wisteria takes over London

I have been blown away by the number of gorgeous houses in London featuring wisteria over their front door. Since my love for photography is getting bigger by the day I am paying more and more attention to the beauty surrounding me. So tonight I just fancied a small photo based post to share my love for Spring in London.

Oops I….fell for the gingham trend!

I have seen a number of cool trends popping up for the Spring Summer! As much as I wish I could buy all of my favourite ones, the frugal mum that I need to be has to make decisions. Then Mother’s day happened and l’Homme offered me the chance to get a little treat.  I really wanted a new little dress for the summer  without breaking the bank and this little black gingham number hit the nail on the head:

The one skirt you need to invest this season

I am a big Pinterest lover. I browse when I get a moment and it’s been a fabulous source of inspiration on numerous fronts but particularly with my photographic project lately. I have also loved Pinterest because , I have finally been able to pin the (fashion) style that makes me feel happy, the style that I now aim to reproduce and feels like me.

Over the years, a look that I have pinned on several occasions has been the pleated skirt. I was so chuffed last winter when I saw it in a midi version in the shops but somehow missed the boat to get one at that point. Living in the UK, wearing a skirt in winter is challenging (rain, cold, wind…you name it!). It can also be tricky to be wearing a skirt when I am looking after my 3 little ones as I am constantly bending, carrying my toddler/shopping, sitting on the floor…

How I deal with the cold weather/Comment je gère la présence du froid

Winter day at Bushy Park

Does anyone else feel like January has been dragging on forever – the post Christmas months are a bit tough: it’s cold, it’s muddy, the days are short…..We have had a few freezing weeks since Christmas – even though this week the weather is turning mild again but I am pretty sure it will get cold again. I am not very good at dealing with the cold Continue reading

Chat with a beauty expert – get the latest trends/Conversation avec une experte beauté

I am so lucky that many of my friends are bright and inspiring women. I love them all for all the qualities they bring to the table, they challenge me and make me want to learn from them. My career may be something that I have put aside since becoming a mum but I still enjoy being inspired by my family and friends.

what-you-love

It is no surprise to anyone now but I love beauty products.

Ile de Ré highlights/Mes moments coups de coeur à l’Ile de Ré

🇬🇧 Our time on Ile de Re was just great – apart from a very poorly toddler stricken by a nasty case of bronchiolitis (thank goodness, there are excellent doctors in France!)

The highlights of our holiday included (get ready for tons of photos!:)

The photos below were taken on the same evening!

Beautiful autumnal colours in Buckinghamshire/Les belles couleurs automnales anglaises

🇬🇧 I love the fact that in Europe we have 4 seasons. I know, I know what you are all going to say with climate change (and the dreadful global warming) those seasons get slightly jumbled up and we sometimes have really mild winter to end up having cold Spring etc. However, you cannot miss autumn whether it’s cold or mild, with all the leaves taking yellow, orange, brown and red colours, the whole scenery changes and give you a beautiful array of shades. In this post I want to share with you a great little spot we visited the place for the first time at the weekend and where the autumn colours were incredible!

🇬🇧 As lots of you know I was born and bred in Paris and I have spent a fair amount of holidays in France especially as my parents were brilliant at taking us to new areas for ‘discovery’ holidays.
It was half term at school and l’Homme still had a few days he could take off.
